The ball bearing is a RA-RRB extended inner ring type bearing and has positive contact land-riding seals and self-locking collar. It incorporates the improved shroud cap design and is permanently pre-lubricated. It has a slightly different base to center height dimension to make them interchangeable with certain other competitive designs. They are pre-lubricated with a grease fitting provided for re-lubrication if required.
It is designed for extra light duty applications to provide the advantages of ball bearings at low cost. The unit consists of a two piece separable zinc plated steel housing with spherical bearing seat and an electrically conductive rubber interliner. This allows the spherical ground bearing initial self-alignment in all directions.

Fafnir RAO heavy type pillow blocks meet the need for a compact, economical, heavy duty ball bearing housed unit. Designed to incorporate the tested and proven features of the Fafnir standard RAK series pillow blocks, the RAO series is equipped with heavy series GN-KRRB wide inner ring ball bearings for greater load capacity, and the LAO series is equipped with heavy series GN-KLLB wide inner ring bearings.
All units are supplied with a self-locking collar which eliminates shaft shoulders, machining adaptors, sleeves, and locknuts and provides easy mounting
The pillow blocks are self-aligning at mounting with the spherical outside diameter of the bearing fitting into a corresponding spherical housing seat. These units are pre-lubricated and ready for immediate installation. A grease fitting provides for re-lubrication if required. Self-locking collars are supplied with all units. The RAK pillow block is equipped with G-KRRB (R-seal) wide inner ring bearings.
