Pneumatic conveyors, also called air conveyors, use air to transport materials from one location to another. Pneumatic conveyor systems do this by generating air pressure levels measuring either above or below the atmospheric pressure to move the materials through pipes or tubes in the conveyor system to the required destination. As a general rule, pneumatic conveyors are highly reliable and easy to maintain, which makes them an attractive choice when considering various conveying methods. Single pneumatic conveyors can handle a variety of materials, so there is little need to have many conveyors specializing in only one product.There are many different types of air conveyers, which are manufactured to handle the various needs of the many industries that are served by them. Some of the more basic types are the dilute phase and dense phase conveyors, which differ by pressure and rate of speed. Dense phase conveyors are run by compression, and are used for conveying mainly heavier materials.
