The section of a vibrating conveyor pictured left, shows a fibreglass section where a metal detector can be located to detect metal prior to entering a chipper.

"Aligning" bars can also been seen in the bottom of the conveyor. These bars help align short pieces of material to the optimum feed angle for chip quality.
